The 10 Winners of Samsung Smart App Challenge 2013 for Galaxy S4

On May, we introduced a global app competition called Samsung Smart App Challenge 2013 for Galaxy S4, which developers had to come up with creative apps using Samsung Chord SDK.

 

Among the overwhelming number of apps submitted from 50 countries, the 1st place winner, three 2nd place winners, and six 3rd place winners have been announced.

 

Android developers around the world signed up and registered their apps from May 13 to August 31, all hoping to be one of the 10 winners who will win $200,000 (1st prize), $100,000 (2nd prize), or $50,000 (3rd prize) along with a variety of promotional benefits.

 

The first-place winner of the Smart Chord Apps track, “Dots Out” from Russia, is a flicking game. It features clean-cut design and simple gameplay for players of all ages to enjoy, earning rave reviews from the judges. Below is the list of the winners.

One of the perks of being a winner was an invitation to the next year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC 2014) for the awarding ceremony that will be held on the Samsung Developer Day. Also, the winners will get a chance to promote their winning apps through app exhibition booths at the Samsung Electronics Pavilion. In addition, depending on the nature of the apps, the 10 apps will be evaluated for investment by Samsung Venture Investment Corporation.

 

If you submitted an app, but were not one of the winners, we have something that might interest you. Samsung has launched another app development competition for Galaxy Note and it has currently been in progress since September 5. If you are a developer, definitely, check it out.

 

 

This time around, there will be 12 winners who will be receiving a record total of $1,100,000 prize money along with a various promotional opportunities. Samsung will accept entries until the end of this month, so hurry if you didn’t register yet.
