While you may not have thought about it, there are many ways you can separate the yolks from the whites of eggs:

You can crack the egg over your hand and let the whites drip between your fingers. You can use a funnel.

You can use a separator.

You can use a plastic bottle.

But how would a chef separate the yolks from the whites of eggs? We had one of our Club des Chefs share their #ChefSecrets and show us how a professional chef does it.

It turns out it is much more basic, simpler and easier than we’d thought it would be. Then we also found out this simple method can look much more impressive when it is shot in super slow motion. Check it out.

If you found this video as delightfully satisfying as we did, there are actually more videos on Club des Chefs’ #ChefSecrets. Not all of them are shot in slow motion, but there are many useful cooking tips, such as ‘how to poach an egg like a pro’, ‘how to choose fresh fish’, ‘how to decorate a plate’, ‘how to make a vinaigrette’ and more.

If you are wondering what Club des Chefs is, it is a global culinary initiative by Samsung, which involves a group of professional chefs – Michel Troisgros, Christopher Kostow, Eric Trochon, Éric Fréchon, Davide Oldani, Daniel Boulud and Elena Arzak. Samsung collaborated with these chefs to develop a lineup of premium home appliances named the Chef Collection: Chef Collection 4-Door Refrigerator, new Electric Slide In Range with Flex DuoTM Oven, Virtual FlameTM Induction, and the innovative WaterWallTM dishwasher. You might actually have seen some of the Chef Collection as we covered it at CES 2014 and IFA 2014.
