UL, TÜV Rheinland and Fogra recognize UD970 for picture quality and printed color replication

“We are delighted that the UD970 monitor has been recognized by UL, TUV Rheinland and Fogra as a new high for monitor color accuracy, picture quality and printed color performance,” said Kim Seok-gi, Executive Director of Visual Display at Samsung Electronics. “As the UD970 can testify, our innovative monitors lead the industry in providing an unparalleled viewing experience that meets the expectations of even the most discerning professional.”

The UD970 passed rigorous testing by UL and TÜV Rheinland to determine the monitor’s color accuracy and image quality. This included an evaluation of the monitor’s Adobe RGB color gamut based on the International Commission on Illumination (CIE) 1931 standard. The monitor achieved 99.5 percent color accuracy. The UD970’s UHD picture quality and true 10-bit color depth displays more than 1 billion colors, meaning creative professionals can experience images with outstanding clarity.

The UD970 also received certification for its ability to reduce color disparity when printing and improve printed color accuracy based on the FograCert Softproofing System. The Fogra certification is an international printing standard that certifies how accurately a printer can replicate the colors displayed on the monitor, an aspect essential to graphic designers, photographers and other professionals.

Samsung will demonstrate the UD970’s picture quality and color match printing capabilities to an international audience at Photokina 2014, the world’s largest international photo and image show. The show is scheduled to take place September 16-21, 2014, in Cologne, Germany.
