Samsung announced the immediate availability of Good for Samsung KNOX™, merging Good’s market-leading app container and broad app ecosystem with the Samsung KNOX enterprise security platform for Android. The launch of Good for Samsung KNOX represents the next step in the strong partnership between Samsung and Good to deliver world-class mobile enterprise security solutions after the companies first announced their partnership at Mobile World Congress 2014.

Good is now the first enterprise mobility management (EMM) provider whose secure container platform and app ecosystem are integrated directly into the KNOX security stack. This joint solution creates the enhanced secure solution for enterprises and government agencies looking to accelerate their Android deployment to drive secure mobile productivity.

“Together, Samsung and Good are addressing the growing importance of mobility management for enterprises by delivering an unmatched secure mobile productivity solution for Android that will relieve organizations of past concerns with Android adoption,” said Injong Rhee, executive vice president of enterprise business, IT and mobile business at Samsung Electronics. “The combination of Samsung and Good represents the best solution for secure enterprise Android productivity – no matter whether corporate-liable, COPE (Corporate Owned, Personally Enabled) or BYOD(Bring Your Own Device) device ownership models are being used.”

Good for Samsung KNOX creates a Good-Secured Domain within KNOX’s Security-Enhanced Android operating system, where any Good apps, Good-secured apps, or custom apps secured by the Good Dynamics secure mobility platform reside. Good also provides comprehensive support for KNOX’s extended MDM API set.

“The large companies in the world trust Good Technology as the secure mobility leader, including all of the Fortune 100 commercial banks and other industry leading companies in over 190 countries,” said Christy Wyatt, chairman and CEO of Good Technology. “By partnering with Samsung to integrate our container and secure app ecosystem with the KNOX platform, we are delivering a comprehensive, layered solution to secure Samsung Android devices in the enterprise.”

Samsung KNOX is currently the only Android based security platform of defense-grade and government-certified mobile security complying with key US Government and Department of Defense (DoD) initiatives and other standards for mobile device security. Specifically, Samsung KNOX received the Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) approval from the US Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) to use in US DoD networks in May 2013 and was upgraded to STIG version 2 in April 2014. It has also received multiple certifications, including Common Criteria for Protection Profile for Mobile Device Fundamentals, FIPS, and UK CESG Guidance. Good Technology has numerous accreditations and certifications including ISO 19790, Common Criteria EAL-4+, FIPS 201-1 PIV.  Together, Good for KNOX combined with the certifications Samsung has earned brings an unprecedented level of compliance and adherence into Government, Military and highly regulated industries.
