‘Sharing’ has to be one of the most fascinating features of social media. ‘Sharing’ lets us know that even in this gigantic world filled with billions of unique people, there are still plenty of people with similar interests, backgrounds or experiences; sharing confirms that we are not alone. We’ve seen a trend in the past few years of people sharing personal and emotional stories – sometimes the purpose is inspiration, sometimes awareness, sometimes for advice, or even sympathy.  Because these stories are shared with social communication tools, such as Facebook and YouTube, the stories have a sense of intimacy and authenticity; the messages are stronger than ever.

The Prince’s Trust, a charity in the United Kingdom founded in 1976 by Charles, Prince of Wales to help young people, and Samsung are taking advantage of these social channels to help Britain’s youths to share their stories of overcoming adversity to inspire those in need of motivation and hope. Today, we would like to share some moving stories from the #forwardthinking campaign.

Afsana Benozir

Currently, Afsana is a happy student who is studying to become a doctor to help save lives. However, you couldn’t even imagine the life she had to turn around. Connect with a thought. Forward it on. #forwardthinking

Peter Higgs

It is not easy having to go through a catastrophic childhood with ADHD and Tourette’s Syndrome. But Peter did. However, now Peter is a successful businessman. Watch his incredible journey. Connect with a thought. Forward it on. #forwardthinking

Jarred King

Not many of us can even imagine what it would be like to grow up in an environment where an ordinary day consists of people stealing cars and doing drugs. Jarred’s childhood is not an ordinary childhood. However, Jarred worked to give himself a much better life and now he runs his own business, living his dream. Connect with a thought. Forward it on. #forwardthinking
