  • Coinmanmat

Its using the Hexa-core Exynos processor and it has LTE support!? O.o

    • gt-01

Really? Is that a first for Samsung’s Exynos? Or is it incorrect?

  • Kenneth Cornelius

how many workers contracted benzene poisoning well making this phone?????

    • saucetin

      Well…

  • gt-01

Nice, time to wait for reviews…

  • Tekky

    720p display isn’t acceptable.

    • iPLAY 2 ANNOY U

hardly noticable to the human eye. you are unnecessarily picky.

      • lolcatsthe7th

Quite noticeable. I have 1080p phone and wish it were one step higher as the individual pixels are still distinguishable.

        • Ronald Hunter

You must have extraordinary eyes, because the resolution is way better than most people can see.

        • iPLAY 2 ANNOY U

Hardly noticeable, like I said. You can still see the same thing on a 720p than you can with anything higher except for a microscopic sense of clarity. Hold a phone one 720 and one 1080, hardly noticeable once you do this.

        • Axekick

It depends a lot on what you are looking at on the phone. The little icons for your shortcuts & games are rarely ever capable of 1080p, images and videos should be if they are truly high definition to begin with.

      • Mel

Need to get your eyes checked then if that’s the case

        • iPLAY 2 ANNOY U

20 20 vision right here. however your pixel ego is much larger

    • Axekick

306 PPI is not 720P, nor can you tell the difference between the two on a 4.8 inch screen, at least not without your nose pressed against the glass.

  • Joe

Really not that impressive compared to the nokia lumia 1020. I guess the 10X zoom is nice, but for everyday use, ads too much bulk to the phone to be something I would want to buy.

    • gt-01

Maybe have a look at it yourself in real life before you judge it from the pic.

    • red rover

That’s impressive. They have a lens collapse into itself up to the backside of the display. You get trade offs. But no one else had done this. As this would appeal to those that use the camera more than average users, you have as not as good display and shorter battery life, since you’ll have a smaller battery. Give it a couple more generations, imagine if they put the resources into creating the future camera on all our phones that would have a retracting lens. Without sacrifice to battery life or display.

  • Joe

I thought the Galaxy S5 most the most innovative phone ever, why didn’t they add this camera then.

    • notanastronaut

Business. Samsung will be releasing the Galaxy Mega this summer and then the Galaxy Note 4. All of these companies time the release of their products so that consumers buy more. If I had just purchased a Galaxy S5 but was really interested in a phone with a nice camera I might consider selling the Galaxy S5 and getting one of these.

      • Dannetra Watts

The samsung mega is already out

        • notanastronaut

The new Samsung Mega is coming out in June

      • alanjason .

FYI, I read in a different article that Samsung won’t be selling this in the US, so if you want one, you’ll have to buy an unlocked one from a European retailer.

      • Dannetra Watts

Samsung mega 6.3 is already out since last year, the Samsung s5 came out in April .

    • Richard Couillard

Not everyone wants that added bulk to their phone.

  • paka roach

i would like to try it out..i could get some great surfing pictures from on shore with the camera..its innovative somewhat.

    • alanjason .

I read in a different article that Samsung won’t be selling this in the US, so if you want one, you’ll have to buy an unlocked one from a European retailer.

  • Jeff

Tried Galaxy S3 and will never use another Samsung product again. They sent me THREE defective phones . . . . This means I have received 4 defective phones consecutively. 4 defective phones . . . just think about the quality of their aftermarket control. Worst nightmare ever.

    • iPLAY 2 ANNOY U

you’re the one trying to save money buying refurbished phones…you must realize these were ALL defective to begin with!

    • Axekick

I doubt your story. I pre-ordered the Galaxy S3 receiving it upon it’s release and it has remained flawless to this day. The GS4 wasn’t worth upgrading for and the Galaxy S5 is, depending on how much your phone is used and what for.

I am still more than content with the Galaxy S3 and do not personally know anyone who has experienced defects in their Samsung smart phones.

      • Kenny

I don’t doubt his story because my wife and I went through 4 different (Brand New) Galaxy S3′s before we finally got rid of them and went with Motorola. The S3 was JUNK !! Some people had good luck with them but there were MANY more people who had issues with them… Ever heard the phrase “antenna gate” ??

        • Axekick

Yes, I have heard the phrase “antenna gate” and it pertained to the defective antenna in the iPhone 4. “You’re holding it wrong” – Steve Jobs.

        • Axekick

Frankly I doubt your story too. I cannot imagine someone getting 2 different defective phones then going back for a 3rd, and again a 4th.

“Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” – Albert Einstein

  • DMeeks

Would like to try the galaxy K Zoom I currently have a S4 and don’t have many issues at all except for speed from time to time on phone but all else is wonderful

  • RK

I came this close purchasing the Samsung galaxy S5. I take a lot of photographs, so I will be waiting for this one to come into the market.

    • alanjason .

I read in a different article that Samsung won’t be selling this in the US, so if you want one, you’ll have to buy an unlocked one from a European retailer. Samsung already tried to sell a phone like this in the US, and it was a complete failure, so they’re not going to sell it here again anytime soon.

  • bcollett

This is another one of the throw it against the wall and see if it sticks ideas.

  • Clarence Bridges

Didn’t Sony already do this and did it fail

    • Richard Couillard

Samsung had the S4 Zoom also.

  • Truth4TruthToday

Last I checked Sony also tried ” Bento Box” idea. I idea didn’t fly so well because Samsung Smartphone.

  • Chuck Schulthies

The 1 dimension camera is a convince to a phone, that’s an added piece of junk with problems written all over it. I prefer to take pictures with a camera.

  • Iain_Jarvis

    I still would favor the Nokia’s 1020 41 megapixel with loss-less zoom

    • Oaristys

U can’t compare zoom and crop. When you zoom opticaly, you change focal length. When you change focal length you change angular field. When you change angular field, object’s shape appear differently. When you take a pic of your freind, zooming from wide to standard (about 50mm eq.) tranform the fish-head like portrait in natural aspect. This is why an optical zoom is a necessity in photography.

By the way, the Nokia’s 1020 take awesome 41MP photo (but poor in corner). When you “zoom” the phone crop this photo. This meen that you can’t expect as much picture information from 41MP cropped at max “zoom” that you’ll get with Galaxy K at max zoom.

10X at 20MP get 20MP (i admit there is lower optical restitution at this extreme)
      10X with Lumia 1020 is 1/10 of 41MP = 4.1Mp
So Galaxy K win with 5 time the resolution at max zoom. Even with optical quality loss, you’ll get more quality and, you get the angular field !
Nokia 1020 is a beast for wide angle picture. The best fast picture available on the market (The Oppo offer slower picture of 50MP equivalent and result are significantly better)

  • Raj Raj

I di ots, its a camera with a phone.

  • Jim Polwort

Price and availability in the USA?

  • alanjason .

I read in a different article that Samsung won’t be selling this in the US, so if anyone wants one, you’ll have to buy an unlocked one from a European retailer. Samsung already tried to sell a phone like this in the US in the past, and it was a complete failure, so they’re not going to sell it here again anytime soon.

  • Jeff Yapalater

Well, I hasve had good luck with the S3. WSent to the S4 for better camera. Then found the S4Zoom at At&T here in NY just recently. Verizon does not carry it. Tried the S4Zoom and really nice. The 10x optical is really good and then you can zoon in afterward. Better in low light. Has a much bigger sensor than phones. Opened in Photoshop and just great quality vs S4 phone, whic I like alot. The just read the K model. So if I do the $99 2yr for the S4 zoom then I would have to buy the K when it comes out vs. the “lease: for 12 months before upgrading to the K. Details. Details! In any case the S4Zoom is excellent and I will likely use this as my primary phone and cam.

  • famished

Hmm, can they slap the camera on a Galaxy Note?

  • Kevin

No sale date in the US?? No one at ATT even has a clue that this phone even exists.

    • iPLAY 2 ANNOY U

do you realize how cool you will be once you find it online and bust it out in the AT&T store? Similar to how I felt when I busted out my Dell Venue Pro in the AT&T store a few years ago. DAMN I USED TO BE SO COOL.

  • ml70

8 GB internal sd? Most peopleone i know have exhausted 16 gb and moving up to the newest phone generation with (at least) 32 gb. This is a real issue since google decided to take away the android feature to install apps to sd card. 8 gb for apps is Very Little.

    • geraintwd

Buy an S5 then and make do with the slightly less awesome camera.
