Samsung Unveils Next-Generation Cloud Computing Solutions

September 19, 2012 | Comments | Tomorrow Works

Samsung Electronics introduced its next-generation cloud computing solution products, highlighted by the B Series Cloud Base Station, the C Series Cloud Monitor, and the new X Series Cloud Box. Created in response to increasing customer demand, the new cloud computing solutions aim to further expand the company’s lineup of virtual desktop solutions.

The latest cloud computing devices from Samsung allow users to securely store and access data on one centralized server or network, thereby consolidating servers and eliminating the fear of stolen or misplaced data. By simplifying system management and improving productivity, Samsung’s new cloud solutions can connect to a user’s central server, thereby providing users direct access to the operating system (OS) and the applications they need. Such capabilities are accompanied by unparalleled performance whose versatility can accommodate a wide spectrum of customer needs.

Samsung offers both zero client and thin client cloud solution products. The zero client B Series Cloud Base Station and the C Series Cloud Monitor act as cloud devices connected to a centralized server, providing an alternative to a traditional PC infrastructure. Samsung’s X Series Cloud Box is the first standalone cloud desktop replacement solution from Samsung, offering flexible user access and the ability to reuse existing customer monitors investments, further reducing the initial investment point for cloud computing.

Zero Client Solutions: Cloud Monitor and Cloud Base Station

Samsung’s Cloud Monitor and Cloud Base Station provide improved security, as no data is stored locally. They are also equipped with the new Teradici 2nd generation chipset. These devices offer faster boot and response times, improved picture quality, and simplified system management, illustrating the latest generation of cloud technologies and further strengthening Samsung’s commitment to this market.

A brand new cloud computing solution, Samsung’s B Series Cloud Base Station (NB-NH) provides users with the convenience of working with their existing monitors. Using the Cloud Base Station, users can convert their existing monitors into a cloud-based, all-in-one display in a matter of minutes.

As a complete all-in-one Cloud Monitor, Samsung’s C Series monitor includes DVI output, D-sub input, four USB 2.0×4 ports, and built-in speakers. The C Series monitors are available in two sizes, 19 inches (NC191) and 23.6 inches (NC241). The C Series monitors use the latest LED screen technology, giving users improved picture quality whilst reducing their energy consumption with LED BLU monitors, which consume 40 percent less energy compared to CCFL LCD monitors.

Thin Client Solutions: Cloud Box

The simplest cloud computing solution, Samsung’s X Series Cloud Box (TX-WN) can connect to any standard monitor, allowing users to conveniently access and store data in the cloud. The Cloud Box also features Samsung’s MagicRMS Pro software, which allows software management or OS updates from a single remote location through the central server.

Launch Timing

The Samsung B Series Cloud Base Station (NB-NH) will be available on October. The Samsung C Series Cloud Monitors (NC191 and NC241) will be available on December. The Samsung X Series Cloud Box (TX-WN) will be available on November.

If you bought your S3 from US carrier, then AT&T and Verizon have 14 days return policy on Samsung phones.  good luck!  I returned my galaxy S3 this week because it was defective.

Very bad experience with Samsung and I do not think I will buy another. I plan to purchase iPhone 5 instead!

TAIPEI (Reuters) – Taiwan’s Foxconn Technology Group closed its Taiyuan plant in northern China on Monday after a personal dispute spiraled into a brawl involving 2,000 workers in a dormitory late on Sunday night, injuring 40. The Taiyuan plant, which employs about 79,000 workers, makes automobile electronic components, consumer electronic components and precision moldings. The plant also makes various parts for Samsung’s current model Galaxy S3 mobile phone.
