Samsung Global Bloggers have been bringing you stories straight from the London. This is latest update from DongJune Youn.
Today I finally made it to Olympic Park, although it wasn’t just to watch the games. There is so much to take in surrounding the Olympics, and I wanted to get a feel for the mood around the park. You can see for yourself that there are some serious supporters here!
From our hotel to Stratford, where the Olympic Stadium is located, took about 50 minutes. Wherever I went, eye-catching pink signs led the way to the Olympic Park. If you’re heading that way, there’s no need for a map.
What to see when you have no ticket
I arrived at Stratford Station excited and ready to go, but it was impossible to get in without a ticket. It looked like I was not the only one who had to wait outside though. There are pretty strict security measures, so I had to enjoy the Olympics from there. Not to worry though, there was still plenty to see.
The Samsung store is located in front of the entrance to Olympic Park. Whether it’s because of the great location or the popularity of Samsung’s products (I think it’s probably both), the store is packed.
Olympic Fashion Show
I met so many funny people throughout the day, and there was no end to the fantastic and unique costumes that fans dressed in. Let’s see!
This pair had a great outfit combination. Guess which country they were supporting?
Canadian supporters were also out and decked out in red. They were smiling before and after this picture!
Can you guess which country they’re supporting? It’s Croatia! My future-father-in-law said Croatia and Korea were in the same men’s handball group. And Croatia had a game with Spain that day. He seemed pretty confident that Croatia would win.
Personally, I think this Spanish guy wins the award for best photo. He seemed pretty confident that Spain would win.
Out of all the supporters and cheering squads, these guys were the highlight. You can see their energy in the photo. After I let them know that Korea would be up against Brazil the next night and asked who they thought would win, their answer was a quick “Absolutely Brazil!”
I can’t wait to return here, although next time with a ticket. The people and energy really make this event special, and it’s great to be a part of it. Cheers!
