It’s amazing to think of how much technology has changed in recent years! Even more amazing is how much of this rapidly-changing technology you can hold in your hands. High-quality graphics are no longer just for “professionals”. With the ready availability of high-definition cameras, there are an increasing number of “ordinary” people engaging in graphic works with high-definition videos. With this in mind, Samsung launched the Samsung Series 9 Monitor, a professional grade monitor made for the general user. Your work deserves to be seen at its best!
One of the things that make the Samsung Series 9 Monitor so appealing is the calibration engine, a feature usually found only on professional monitors. This helps the user achieve the highest image quality possible making it easier for users to bring out the best in their work. Let’s have a look at NCE(Natural Color Expert), Samsung’s own calibration technology.
What is calibration?
For the best image representation, Samsung Series 9 Monitor applies a unique color calibration technology, called ‘Natural Color Expert’. This technology is engineered to express colors as close as possible to natural colors as found in nature. It configures hardware settings to improve the screen uniformity, implement accurate gamma curves and express accurate color temperature. So what does that all mean, you may ask? Read on after the video…
Samsung Series 9 LED Monitor (Built-in Calibration Engine)
NCE provides accurate natural color by adjusting three areas: 1) uniformity of screen color and brightness, 2) gamma for precise division of colors and brightness and 3) white balance accurate color temperatures. If these words don’t help, take a look at the shots below.
All this might seem a great pain or you might want to get great picture quality as soon as you get your hands on the monitor. That’s why our experts execute a series of calibration tasks one by one for each and every unit before the final product rollout. Think of this as the last step in providing the user with optimal image quality. You get a certificate with the statistics and calibration result of the monitor you received, and oh yeah, you get the monitor too, ready to go.
Samsung Series 9 LED Monitor (Expert Color Tuning)
For the factory tuning at the time of factory rollout, the screen is divided into 15 sections (5*3) for calibration. Users who want a more detailed adjustment can do so by dividing the screen into 25 sections (5*5) or even 49 sections (7*7) using NCE.
Best of all, Samsung Electronics provides the calibration software. Though the monitor remembers your preferences and doesn’t need frequent calibration once set, this allows customers to adjust their screen to suit their own needs whenever they want.
