What’s going on at CeBIT 2012? Part II

Last time, we talked about CeBIT in general and what kind of trade fair it is.  For the second half, we'll talk more the Samsung booth at CeBIT and some of the reasons why it was setup the way it was.

 

As you can expect, the size of the exhibition was large. There were 26 buildings and Samsung took Hall number 2. Samsung Electronics used the 308㎡ display area to demonstrated IT-Solution printing, IT solution note PC, IT display and mobile products.

 

 

The theme for Samsung Electronics booth was IT BOX. Wherever you go, you will see a phrase, 'Wilkommen in der IT Tool Box, Alles drin fur ihre Corporate IT', which means 'Welcome to the IT TOOL BOX, All for your corporate IT'.

 

I asked Marius Herz (Samsung Graduate Program) some questions about the Samsung Booth at CeBIT

 

 

What is the concept of Samsung Electronics booths? 

 

 

When we design the booth, we focused on communication. As you walk around the booth, you will “IT TOOL BOX” and "Welcome to IT TOOL BOX, All for your corporate IT" everywhere. When you look at the booth outside, you will see a box filled with IT devices that is about to be opened. Also at the center of the booth, there are color codes. Therefore, you will have an easier access to all sorts of devices.

 

 

In addition, on the second floor, there is a place to take some rest for the staff and to have a chat with buyers/customers.

 

Why was the booth divided into the three categories of Education, Healthcare and Finance? 

 

 

We wanted to let people know that Samsung is not just all about hardware. We have to consider the customers’ (in this case, business) needs. For example, if you are working in the automobile industry, you need a device for designing your ideas or a device that can track customers. Based on your area, you need different devices. To satisfy variety of people at different fields, we decided to divide our products into three categories.

 

What is the most popular product at this exhibition? 

 

 

Among B2C customers, GALAXY Series was the most popular. Also B2B customers are interested in touch feature of GALAXY Series. The touch feature is becoming a must have for everything now. People are even confusing monitors with touch screens.

 

 

But the best thing about Samsung is the great connectivity and compatibility between devices. When we showed many other products other than the GALAXY Series, people were wowed by the great connectivity between Samsung devices.

 

Finally, what do people in Germany think about Samsung Electronics? 

 

 

We got a lot of positive feedback from people in Germany. Most people think that Samsung Electronics is creative, innovative and good at design. CeBIT is a great way to communicate with buyers and other private customers and that’s why we participated in this event!

 

I learned a lot about Samsung Electronics Germany from talking with Marius Hertz. I could also feel his passion and enthusiasm for Samsung!
