Samsung’s SideSync can be used in two modes, Keyboard and Mouse-sharing and Phone Screen Sharing.  Whichever you choose, all new files from the smartphone will automatically be saved to the PC.

Keyboard and Mouse-sharing Mode

This mode allows you to use the PC’s keyboard and mouse to control and toggle between your smartphone and your PC.  You can easily copy, paste, drag, and drop files between your PC and smartphone, enabling you to view and edit the files anytime and anywhere. The new printer Xpress C410W series consists of the C410W color laser printer, the C460W color laser MFPs with print, copy and scan functionality, and the C460FW color laser MFPs with print, copy, scan and fax capabilities. These C410W series have been specifically designed with the home and small office user in mind who wants to print content from their smartphones. These three models are able to print up to 18 pages per minute (ppm) in black and white and four ppm in color.

The first challenge was The Superfast Speed Boat Challenge. It was a high-speed boat ride in Portsmouth that tested both the nerves and photography skills of the contestants as they captured shots from the rocky deck of the boat.

The boat docked and contestants went on to the Goodwood Estate in Sussex, where they were dazzled by the iconic motor circuit and England’s most attractive horse riding course, and again, took some amazing pictures.

The evening ended with a live performance by chart topping group “Rudimental,” performing songs from their UK #1 album ‘Home’. The contestants unleashed their creativity and produced outstanding pictures by using long exposure and light tracing features to capture the energy of the musical performance and lights.

On the second day, the bloggers participated in five new challenges, including a scramble for shots around London’s famous Borough Market, known as one of the Beatles’ favorites, as well as a death-defying 40mph elevator ride to the top floor of Europe’s tallest building, The Shard.   

After the exhausting challenges, they enjoyed the evening with a taste of the traditional English Pimms liqueur and a ride on the giant ferris wheel, the London Eye.

The competition wasn’t over yet though! It is a competition, so the winners still have to be declared! The best photos the bloggers tookover the course of the two-day event will be published on the official Facebook page. Then Facebook users (that means you!) will have the chance to vote for their country’s ultimate winner from June 14^th for two weeks. What’s in it for the winners? They will be crowned as the national champions and will have the chance to meet the King of Speed, Usain Bolt, in Paris this July. The winners will be announced by June 27^th.

Samsung started providing the new SSD to major notebook PC makers earlier this quarter. The XP941 lineup consists of 512, 256 and 128GB SSDs.

The new Samsung XP941 delivers a level of performance that easily surpasses the speed limit of a SATA 6Gb/s interface. Samsung XP941 enables a sequential read performance of 1,400MB/s (megabytes per second), which is the highest performance available with a PCIe 2.0 interface. This allows the drive to read 500GB of data or 100 HD movies as large as 5GB (gigabytes) in only six minutes, or 10 HD movies at 5GB in 36 seconds. That is approximately seven times faster than a hard disk drive (which would need over 40 minutes for the same task), and more than 2.5 times faster than the fastest SATA SSD.

By mass-producing the new PCIe SSD, Samsung has established the groundwork for a significant transition into the new paradigm in the global SSD market, which enables increasing the performance and the memory storage capacity of SSDs at the same time.

The XP941 comes in the new M.2 form factor (80mm x 22mm), weighing approximately six grams – about a ninth of the 54 grams of a SATA-based 2.5 inch SSD. Also, the XP941’s volume is about a seventh of that of a 2.5 inch SSD, freeing up more space for the notebook’s battery, and therein providing the opportunity for increased mobility that will enhance user convenience.

Samsung intends to continuously expand its production volumes of high-performance 10-nanometer class* NAND flash memory, in helping the company to maintain its lead in PCIe SSDs for ultra-slim PCs and notebook PCs. Furthermore, Samsung plans to introduce next-generation enterprise NVMe SSDs in a timely manner to also take the lead in that high-density SSD market, adding to its competitive edge.

The Samsung Smart Signage Platform was awarded Best New Digital Signage System by NewBay Media’s AV Technology. Winning products and solutions were selected based on ease-of-use, reliability, versatility, overall network impact and ROI. Of the Samsung Smart Signage Platform, judges noted that it offers a highly effective cloud-based solution for content delivery, better monitoring and support and great reduction in total cost of ownership.

Rental & Staging Systems InfoComm Product Award

Samsung’s ME75B LED-backlit LCD was honored by NewBay Media’s Rental & Staging Systems as Best Flat Panel Display-Larger than 70”. The awards are designed to showcase the most innovative new commercial AV products introduced between July 2012 and March 2013. At 75-inches, the Samsung ME75B is the largest LED commercial display that uses the edge-type BLU, which not only uses less power and emits less heat than conventional CCFL LCD displays, but also drastically reduces both the weight and depth of the display, making it easier and more efficient to mount.

Accidents happen, both to us and our possessions. We cannot prevent every mishap, but we can prepare for the worst. Smartphones can be used anywhere and everywhere, and because of this their exposure to unsafe environments is higher than other products. When you invest in your new smartphone, how can you be sure that it is strong enough for the wear and tear of daily life? You might wonder how durable our smartphones are. With this in mind, we would like to share this video of Samsung GALAXY S4 reliability testing. 

Dropping Tests

For the ‘consecutive drop test’, the GALAXY S4 is dropped hundreds of time on a hard metal floor. After the dropping test, the GALAXY S4 must work both externally and functionally.

To prepare for those occasional longer drops, a ‘free-fall test’ has been developed. Even though such occurrences are rare, the results can be devastating to a high-tech piece of equipment, and the GALAXY S4 must withstand such an impact. 

In addition to our drop tests, the GALAXY S4 must pass the ‘tumble test’. Simulating such mishaps as when the smartphone is dropped down a flight of stairs, the GALAXY S4 is rolled inside a box. Again, the GALAXY S4 must be fully functional to pass the test.

Impact test

Sudden impacts can ruin a smartphone, so the GALAXY S4 is given rigorous ‘impact tests’ to see if it’s strong enough to withstand the pressure. Often with smartphones, the glass covering the screen is the most susceptible to damage.  The GALAXY S4 glass must hold up to the impact of a dropped metal ball from a considerable height.

Sink Test

Water and electronics do not mix, as a surprising number of people have learned the hard way. Puddles, sinks, and any other standing water can quickly put an end to a smartphone’s usefulness. To measure the GALAXY S4’s level of water resistance, an active GALAXY S4 is submerged in water, and then functionality is assessed.  The GALAXY S4 must work error-free in order to receive a passing mark.

Temperature & Humidity Test

Heat and moisture can quickly shut down an otherwise robust electronic device, so a ‘temperature & humidity test’ was developed for the GALAXY S4. The smartphones are placed inside a controlled environment with extremely high temperatures and humidity for five days. After this grueling test, the GALAXY S4 must remain fully functional in order to pass. 

Countless tests are run to ensure the GALAXY S4’s reliability, using a variety of tools and situations.  Customer peace of mind is paramount, and you should feel free to use it in any environment.  But remember, these tests are run by trained professionals, so DO NOT try these tests at home!

Samsung will be showcasing a variety of LED backlit displays and digital signage software solutions for the first time in the U.S. Themed “Discover, Create, Engage,” the exhibition looks to take visitors on a walk through an urban city setting complete with retail shops, banks, restaurants and movie theaters. Educational display solution: MagicIWB 3.0

Samsung’s MagicIWB 3.0 is software platform that enables customers to use multiple devices as one screen enabling enhanced engagement and collaboration. MagicIWB 3.0 creates a large digital whiteboard solution using individual displays, which multiple individuals can use to simultaneously collaborate on projects and share ideas.    

Engineered with efficiency, cost savings, and collaboration in mind, MagicIWB 3.0 provides an expansive visual and collaborative experience that is ideal for the enterprise (meeting rooms) and education (high school and university) environments, particularly customers in those environments that have a need for a large, collaborative display.
